THE DICTIONARY PROJECT
Since 2008, Catoosa Citizens for Literacy has been providing free dictionaries to every 3rd grader in the Catoosa County School System.
During the presentation of the dictionaries, Catoosa Citizens for Literacy stresses the importance of graduating from high school and furthering their education. The dictionary is a fun learning tool! It is much more than just a dictionary. It contains learning tools such as a multiplication chart, the periodic table of elements, the presidential history, geography, science, and so much more!!!
Each child is given a dictionary and an ink pen indicating their year of graduation. On average, 850 children are served through this program each year.
